Protein Kinase C Substrate can be used to monitor the activity of protein kinase C family enzymes. Protein kinase C (PKC) is a type of protein kinase enzymes that phosphorylates hydroxyl groups of serine and threonine amino acid residues as a signaling mechanism. PKC enzymes are activated by signals such as increases in the concentration of diacylglycerol (DAG) or calcium ions (Ca2+).
